Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

One of the biggest buzz words of the 21st century among business owners and marketers alike has definitely been SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. The importance of SEO is definitely not understated given how search engines like Google have become so common place, and really, a cultural phenomenon. However, SEO has been a much-misunderstood art largely due to the fact that the major search engines continually tweak and change their algorithms.

On-Page SEO

When most people think of SEO, a lot of people seem to think it’s all about keywords. It’s not all about keywords, but keywords do play a large role when it comes to ‘on-page’ SEO. It all starts with thorough keyword research to figure out what the terms for which your prospective customers are most likely to search.

In addition to finding the keywords that you want to target, there are many factors that have to be considered in terms of how you implement the keywords into your website. Some of the factors to consider include the title and H1 tags, your internal linking structure, your URL structure, and the actual copy on your website.

Off-Page SEO (Link Building)

Your on-page SEO can be as good as it gets, but if you don’t have quality & relevant websites linking to your website, your website is not going to rank competitively. Search engines view a link from Site A to Site B, as a vote of sorts, for Site B. But it’s not all about quantity! It’s about getting the right type of links. Not only is the site from which you are receiving a link is important, but search engines will also look at the things like where on the page the link is located, are there few or many other outbound links from that same page, and what is the anchor text of the link. (The text that is included in the hyperlink itself).

Our process involves finding out what relevant websites are ranking on the 1st page for the keywords we deem most valuable for your business, and then studying both the on-page factors and off-page factors, (including the individual websites from which they are receiving links) that are helping them rank well. This information gives us an extra edge to get your website the best ranking possible.
